Vitralit® UD 8050--New Panacol adhesives cure with uv/moisture

Panacol developed a variety of new adhesives with low ion contents which cure with UV light and moisture. These products were specially formulated for applications in the electronics and consumer electronics industry, where heat sensitive parts must be assembled.
Vitralit® UD 8050 is a one-component acrylic adhesive, which can be used as an encapsulant to protect electronic components on PCBs, it is also suitable for bonding different materials, especially plastics which are difficult to be bonded . Vitralit® UD 8050 can be cured with UV or visible light. Moisture postcuring ensures full cure in shadow areas or deeper layers of the adhesive, where light cannot reach.
For specific requirements several versions of the adhesive are available: Vitralit® UD 8050 MV F allows enhanced flow control and focused dispensing on each component thanks to its shear-thinning behavior. Its low ion content prevents corrosion on electronic components. For monitoring process control Vitralit® UD 8050 MV F contains fluorescent marker.
For jetting process, the low viscosity version Vitralit® UD 8050 LV is a perfect solution. Thanks to its easy dispensing and fast curing Vitralit® UD 8050 LV is very convenient for applications in the production of consumer electronics where a high throughput is needed.
Normally, the adhesive is transparent, but it is also available in blue, black or/and fluorescing versions. Other colors are also available on request.
Panacol-Elosol GmbH was founded in 1978 in Frankfurt am Main as a German subsidiary of Panacol AG in Switzerland. Since January 2008, Panacol has been a member of the Hönle Group. Together with Dr. Hönle AG – the parent company of the Hönle Group and a global leader in industrial UV technology – Panacol is a reliable systems provider for bonding technology complete with suitable curing systems. In the Spring of 2009, Panacol took over the adhesives and sealant sales operation for the entire group as well as Hönle’s other subsidiary Wellomer GmbH, making Panacol a leader in industrial adhesives.

Vitralit® 6129--Panacol new UV / heat-curable thermally conductive adhesive

Panacol has developed UV / heat-curable thermally conductive adhesives for thermally conductive applications. Common thermally conductive adhesives are single-component glues that are cured by heating, or two-component glues that cure at room temperature. However, with the higher and higher requirements of customer on these products, these types of thermally conductive adhesives have more or less problems. For example, duirng the curing process of a single-component heat-curing thermally conductive adhesives, the bonding parts has the risk of shifting, while the use of two-component thermally conductive adhesives is more complicated, and the curing time is longer.
In order to meet the needs of the market, Panacol has launched a new UV / heat curing thermally conductive adhesive -Vitralit® 6129. By using this product, it can be pre-fixed by UV light first, and the shadow area that cannot be exposed to light can be cured by subsequent heating processes. This not only meets the high UPH requirements of industrial, but also avoids the risk of bonding parts displacement during heating process. Vitralit® 6129 has low viscosity and good moisture resistance, and can be used in any application where heat sinks and thermal electronic components are mounted on a board or where it is desirable to increase thermal conductivity between assembled parts.

Vitralit® 6104 VT---High temperature resistant UV / heat curing adhesive

Vitralit® 6104 VT is a green glue developed and manufactured by Panacol for applications such as circuit board electronic components protection and coil bonding etc. Vitralit® 6104 VT is a one-component acrylic adhesive which is characterized by good adhesion to metals and sintered materials. With regard to the curing method, it can be cured not only with UV alone, but also with a combination of UV Light and heat. This “UV & heat” multi-curing possibility is its advantage and innovation. And this glue cures very quickly, its flexible and fast curing way of production meets the needs of high UPH while allowing the glue in shaded area to be fully cured.
The general temperature resistance for a normal acrylic based UV glue is about 120 ℃. However, Vitralit® 6104 VT developed by Panacol is not only resistant to high temperatures of 200℃, but also highly resistant to environmental erosion. Based on these characteristics, Vitralit® 6104 is the perfect choice for motor rotor bonding applications that are often subjected to temperature changes and high loads. In order to meet the needs of different applications, this glue has different viscosity series.

Elecolit® 6607---Panacol low temperature fast curing thermally conductive adhesive

As a professional high-end industrial adhesive supplier within the German Hoenle Group, Panacol has long been committed to the R&D, production and sales of industrial adhesives in consumer electronics, medical, automotive, optoelectronics and aerospace industries. Panacol recently also introduced a new low-temperature curing thermally conductive adhesive Elecolit® 6607, which can be rapidly cured at a low temperature of 80 ℃. It is specially developed for heat-sensitive components and industrial thermally conductive applications in automotive and aviation industry.
Elecolit® 6607 is a white one-component epoxy adhesive. It has good adhesion to ceramics, metals and many plastics, especially its lap shear strength to aluminum alloy / aluminum alloy can reach 40 MPa. Not only that, as a thermally conductive adhesive, this glue also has excellent flow properties, which is very suitable for potting applications of thermal components. And Elecolit® 6607 has excellent electrical insulation properties, good thermal conductivity and very good chemical resistance, making it the best choice also for bonding applications in automotive and aviation industry.
Since Elecolit® 6607 can be cured at low temperatures, it is well-suited for some temperature-sensitive applications. In addition, the glue can not only be easily processed via dispenser, screen printing or spatula, but also be accelerated by curing with higher temperature thus shorten the curing time to obtain good process compatibility and production efficiency.

Bridging the gap between open-loop and closed-loop hysteresis measurement system for permanent magnets

It is established that measuring the BH curve of permanent magnets with open-loop and closed-loop measurement system yields the same results fort the key parameters of hysteresis trace: BR? HcB? Hcj and BHmax. An international round-robin organized by the IEC comparing pulsed field magnetometers and conventional systems with electromagnets confirmed this [IEC report TR 62331]. A comparison of both systems was given at Magnetics 2017.
Beyond these 4 key parameters, there exists small differences between the two measurement systems. This presentation will focus on these difference from the theoretical point of view as well as highlight some practical cases.

Metis delivers magnetizing solution for PMG for wind energy

With the shift toward permanent magnet generators, manufacturers are looking for adequate tooling in order to handle permanent magnets. Conveniently, these permanent magnets are charged at the latest possible stage in the production process. The magnetizing solutions for wind mill generators are opening up new manufacturing possibilities.
Metis instruments recently delivered an automated magnetizing solution to a leading manufacturer of wind power generators. On this occasion a completely autonomous production unit for rotors with variable length was installed. The challenge was to deliver a unit that would eliminate the need to handle charged permanent magnets during production with a limited transit time.
The concept of the production unit for fast rotating machines would allow handling multi-pole rotors with a diameter less than a meter. To make the unit suitable for medium speed machines, with rotor diameters up to two meter, some modifications need to be implemented.
For the flexibility, the machine will magnetize the rotor in parts, in axial slices as well as circumferential. On the selected part of the rotor, a strong magnetic field will be applied for magnetizing the permanent magnets with the correct polarity. Th yoke includes magnetic sensors for post-operation quality control of the flux profile.
